My mom's iPhone lasts about two days, but my iPod barely lasts a day since I'm always texting or listening to music.
The first 2 weeks i got my 4s it didn't last a day. But the battery got better overtime and it lasts a full day now.
iphone 4 lasts me a whole day of usage, texts, facebook, twitter, some games if i feel like playing, music and all that. i get home to have about 60% battery left.

iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1.1 not jailbroken After hours of texting, about 30 minutes of data usage alltogether, and an hour or so of music (not streaming) i have a little more than 50% for the next day. Charged every other day pretty much. Out the door at 7 and home for the day by 9.
