Does the amount of memory you have affect the performance of the ipod touch?

Let's say i have 6 gigs out of the 7.0 whatever gb on my iPod touch. Will this slow down my iPod or make the performance sluggish, or whatever? Or will it work just as any other ipod with any amount of memory like 1gb or less?

I'm asking this because I'm about to fill up the whole 7-8 gigs soon, and i hope this does not affect the performance.

I notice that it happens to usb flash drives because they take forever to load when theres a lot of memory filled (well, the ones i';ve used anyway).

    No. I don't think so.
