Turning on ur device takes about 2 - 3 minutes. That wastes more battery than leaving it on sleep mode.

Sleep mode barely sips battery life. Turning it on and off consumes a ton of power.

when you're in sleep mode, does bluetooth and wifi still drain your battery? I forgot my iphone at home while at work, and the battery got drained 50% while i worked.

Also, how many hours of sleep mode are equivalent to a boot exactly?

You are supposed to turn off your WiFi and Bluetooth when you are not using it...

My iPod disconnects from WiFi when I go into sleep.

allright, so on to the next step, has anyone calculated how many minutes/hours of sleep mode battery usage a full reboot is worth?

Just to be clear, sleep mode is when you press your power button while its doing nothing, right?

I've noticed with my 3rd gen that if you have mail set to push every so often, like mine I have it set for every 30 minutes that when it is off it will actually turn the wifi on and get new mail and then the wifi will turn back off. I noticed this when I stopped using it because of my accelerometer problems. And since i have GriP deliver the alerts immediately even if the screen is off the email alerts pop up but not push notifications. If i get a message on BeejiveIM it will not display that or check for them until I wake the iPod myself. Over the course of 6 days while I wasn't using it my battery dropped 30%.
