Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question, but when you restore to an official apple firmware, is it indistinguishable from an ipod which has never been jailbroken? Because if I have jailbreaking problems, I'd want to know I can restore it back. Thanks

No it does not totally get rid of it.

I can't imagine why there would be? A firmware leaves behind fragments? Can you elaborate on this?

Some things are not erased - for example: iTunes backup, Poof preferences etc.
