And if it does, could you disconnect your Internet so it wouldn't be able to search for updates.

Also on a side note, is there a way to disable automatic iPod updates before i plug them in for the first time?

The updates are optional. It will prompt you if you want to install them or not.

So the first time i plug it in the automatic updates box won't be checked?
And if you restore it, it doesn't auto update?

If you force restore it, then yes, it checks for updates. And it will have to download the latest firmware because 1.1.1 doesnt come on a disk (at least I didnt get one) with the ipod. But thankfully, it is possible to downgrade it, or apperently you can jailbreak it even if it is a 1.1.2. Im not sure about that tho.

The problem is i don't want 1.1.2 at all. If i;m not connected to the internet it cant update if i restore, theoretically, right?

If you didn't get it from a stock that's 2 weeks ago, then likely you have no choice and will have to downgrade it anyhow. So you'll likely end up with a 1.1.2 version anyhow.

You will be given a choice to update. You can disconnect the internet as an extra precaution.
