Ok I'm just asking this for future reference, if my iPod has something faulty with it and I have used redsn0w but I restore it to a previous firmware will I still be able to send it back to apple even though it had been previously jailbroken? When I say faulty I mean like the Home button becomes unresponsive. Will they take it back or does redsn0w fully void your warranty?

You just need to restore it before you take it back

a clean DFU/WTF restore should wipe any traces of what was on it before, including jailbreak.
