I got 2 ipod touches now and I'm trying to store one just in case I need it one day. I won't be using it anymore so I was just wondering what would be the best option so the battery doesn't degrade:
    1) leave ipod in sleep mode and charge it every 1-2 weeks
    2) keep the ipod turned off and don't charge it
I know #2 makes more sense but I don't know what will happen if you keep the battery off too long. Thanks for any help.

I think #2 is better. And I'm pretty sure nothing will happen because all the iPods in stores are dead, so it'll be just like that. So it's just like a brand new unopened iPod. If you do #1, charging it every 1-2 weeks reduces the actual battery life, and since there is a limited amount of charge cycles, you will be reducing that as well.

Yea, that's probably the best thing to do.

I'd run it flat. Then I'd store it with zero charge
