Just a quick query, if I were to JB my touch, will I have to reload my music back onto it?

I ask because I keep seeing it mentioned to restore the 1.1.1 firmware BEFORE breaking it.

    Will this erase my music?

I'm not sure I can be bothered to sift through 60GB of music picking out the 5 or 6GB I want on my touch all over again

No, i believe it will not erase any of your music at all... the only reason these guides say it is because they want you to have a nice, clean install.

If you happen to mess up while jailbreaking your iPod and have to restore then, yes, your music will be erased. With all the automatic jailbreaks out it is unlikely you will make a mistake so I would not worry.
