Any long term damage in the battery?

What things should I delete/avoid/disable on Cydia?

    iPod touch 3G 32.

I want to keep performance and battery up.

It shouldn't. but you should install SBSettings and turn the brightness down, and leave SSH and WiFi off when not in use.

Jailbreaking in particular doesn't damage your battery at all. If you install many tweaks from Cydia your battery life may decrease, but uninstalling them will get your battery life back up.

You won't make a mistake if you don't try anything new, so hop on that Cydia train and let experience be your teacher.

I've had my device jailbroken from day one and the battery life has always been fine as long as I didnt play any games on it and turned off the wifi when not in use, which is true of non-jailbroken devices as well. No negative impact.
