Yes, especially if you have installed winterboard or any other 3rd party apps from Cydia, like backgrounder.

A jailbroken iPod does use more battery more quickly than an unjailbroken, but just how fast is yours depleting?

It actually depends on how you operate your ipod touch.
I have one jailbroken, and the battery for me lasts 2 days (about 10 hours listening to music total, and the rest in standby mode)
I just maintain a brightness of nearly zero unless i need to see something clearer
but overall i save the battery any chance i get

This is really not the right thread for that question. There are many threads about this, though I feel like being a nice person tonight.

    1. Download iTunes if you do not have it (and update it).
    2. Download and install a program called QuickPwn to your computer. (http://www.quickpwn.com/2008/11/qui...wnload-windows.html?showComment=1227504660000) . And get the right FW for your iPod.
    3. Plug your iPod into your computer (with your USB cable).
    4. Follow the steps.
    5. Download MobileInstallation to your computer (make sure it's the right one for your Firmware).
    6. Download and install WinSCP.
    7. SSH into your iPod (WinSCP's official site has a tutorial on it, or find it elsewhere, google can be your best friend).
    8. Replace the MobileInstallation file (after backing it up).
    9. Restart/Respring your iPod.
    10. VoilĂ !

Or you could just watch this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg5FOYgs8Kk

    Hmm..some perks:

Being able to customize your iPod?
    Themes?
    Widgets?
    Cydia apps?
The list goes on, experiencing it is the best way imo.
