I am a newbie to itunes syncing i want to know that if itunes converts audio files into the m4a format 128kbps while syncing with an itouch or does it just sync the original file it self without converting?
If so do i need to convert them manually or is there an option to automatically convert them before syncing?

It syncs the original files as far as I know. And you'll have to convert them manually, there's no option to automatically convert them before syncing. You can just right click it and click "Create AAC Version".
