does it damage your ipod if?

    i was wondering when chargin my ipod. does it damage it if ur ipod is already charged and u leave it connected for ur comp for like 3-5 hours?

    I leave mine in all night and no problems

    Its the best thing you can do to give it a long life. Li-Ion batteries need to be charged early and often. NEVER let it hit the point at which your iPod won't even turn on.

    it has the circuitry to know when to stop charging by itself so it shouldn't hurt

    It doesnt affect the ipod if you let if fully discharge, all modern Li-Ion batteries have a small peice of circuitry that disables the battery when it goes below a certail level to prevent damage to the battery.

    I've found this infomation to support this from wikipedia

    '...Therefore all Li-ion battery systems are equipped with a circuit that shuts down the system when the battery is discharged below the predefined threshold.'

    Yeah, I was going to say... I mean you're supposed to be able to use it until it shuts down.
