does having more apps/videos/songs/general memory usage make your battery life shorter?
Your battery's capacity will decline, on average, to 80% of original capacity after 400-500 charge cycles, depending if you are on 1G or 2G. The number of apps you have is irrelevant. The device usage and other factors are important. Visit the 'battery' link in my sig to educate yourself.
Couldn't have said it any better....
I'm not sure if they're completely irrelevant.
More Apps = More Time Spent = Have To Charge Your iPod More = Reach the cap on the charges faster. But who's to say the person with 50 apps is only using them as often as the person who has 1 game they play all the time.
So indirectly, I would say yes. Indirectly of course.
When travelling outdoor try playing light weight game like Sudoku, Kamicrazy, Sokoban, etc... Don't play any 3D intensive game like Brothers in Arms or Fastlane.
As the above poster said, if you play the apps then it will run down the battery life.
no, more apps=bigger springboard cache= more RAM and CPU used=More battery use
wait there is a limit on how many times you can charge an ipod touch. I have a 2G. Does it still have a charge limit.
The limit would be in the thousands of full cycles.
there is no limit... but after 400-500 charges the battery will only be about 80% of what it was orriginally
