Yes it has for quite a long time though. <TIP> Don't update apps in folders and don't update categories. You must remove an app from a folder and remove every app from all folders if you would like to update categories or uninstall it, the apps will be deleted but itunes will think they are still on the iPod. You must then remove them from itunes, then sync, then put them back on. Good luck!

Yea, that's the problem I was getting, so is it like that with all iPods/iPhones or just the 2G? So maybe I can look foward for an update.

    1. Categories is extremely bad for your iPod.
    2. It has worked for 2g for quite a long time.

Actually you CAN update that are still in folders. After you update you will see that they are on your springboard. All you have to do is respring an poof they're back in the folder exactly where they were before you updated them.

Ive been using categories on a 2nd gen ipod for about 4-6 weeks. I haven't had one problem or noticed any problems with battery life, speed, etc.

Most applications (LogoMe being an exception) only have issues due to firmware changes not different models.
So most applications will work fine with 2G as long as they work on that firmware.
