Does a respring count as a restart?

    See, since the iPod Touch 3G only does tethered for now, i was wondering whether a RESPRING counts as a restart, I'm assuming it does because it restarts springboard but I'm not sure.

    iv'e tried it when i installed an app and it worked, but my ipod is 2G is it doesn't matter to me.

    A respring will never be the same as a restart (reboot).

    U free up a couple MBs of ram after abreapring but not as much as a reboot

    Respring - Restarts your Springboard.
    Restart - Restarts your device.
