I have a cd player in my truck that has a cord to plug into iPods. It works for my brothers 2g nano. It charges it and plays it. For my new touch it plays but it says " this accessory doesnot charge this device ". Any ideas?

Also imlooking to buy a alarmclock/iPod dock player and charger. What set has the best sound from nice pounding bass to clear lows and great mids and isn't Bose.

Well, its time for an upgrade anyway. I got the iH9 about 2 days after it came out because I wanted the remote and when I tested it in Best Buy the sound was WAY better than my iH5.

To the Original Poster, I say iHome iH9.

Well, can the old ipods charge on this new firewire 12 volt thing? If they can then all i need is a new CABLE to plug into the ipod addapter that plugs into the back of my deck.. If not then that was a terrible move for Apple to change the way it charges... because it means new things will have to be bought to support it which isnt what everyone wants to do...

You have that reversed. they REMOVED the 12v charging. And yes all old ipods were capable of doing 12v charging. The Touch 2G is the first model that no longer supports firewire charging.

Scoshe is coming out with an adapter called the Passport which should solve your problem. Not sure when it'll be out though.

I have a Bose sound dock. I get the same message as everyone else. Is there some software that can be downloaded to deal with this problem?

Lol, you do know that this thread has been dead for a longggggg time, right?

And no, the hardware for the iPod touch 2G is different than the others, so it won't work on it. It's not the software.
