So anyone got a line on such a thingy? I have googled (and SEARCHED

My dock connector seems so exposed. One came with the rebel touch, but I returned mine in favor of a different case. Too honest to return it without the protector, but I was tempted.
Ideally, one should be easy to use, hard to lose, and around a buck.
Why hasn't someone jumped on this market? Oh yeah, can't make a buck if its only a buck (plus shipping).
In the alternative has someone come up with a home made solution? Tape? Gum? Super glue? Play-doh? (Doh!) Mud?

This post concerns the topic of not being able to bump old threads.

This is so damn simple I don't know why people can't understand this.

    2 simple reason:

    1. Boards are already cluttered with redundant threads. So I see no reason why you can't already ask the same question on the exact same thread.

    2. A bump could educate new users on the subject. The might have some input on something that was never answered. Like what if someone ask a question that only could be answered by am old member who no longer post anymore. How could that new member get his answer on the new thread if that old user I'd no longer here. A simple bump on an old existing thred could give the answer.

So I don't see any harm of doing so. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

To the OP, I'm on the same boat as you.

Good post. Those that don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
I agree, but let's avoid anyone getting their panties in a bunch

I have so many dust & lint under the screen on my 1st gen right now. It's annoying when watching a video. Apple sucks to not include them anymore.

I bought the contour showcase for my touch. It has a rubber cover attatched to the case that fits into the headphone jack and the dock connector. Tore it loose one day and had to superglue it back but you cant tell and it works and looks great. Rather like a hinged flap.

OMG. Rummaging around I found a very old cellophane bag that must have been from my first ipod (10g 1st gen)....had some sort of usb/firewire converter, and two little white thingies that must have puzzled me at the time.
Why, they're dock connector protectors!!!! From Apple, back in the day.
They don't fit perfectly because of the rounded shape of the touch, but they'll do.....
I'm guessing that Apple stopped including them because people probably damaged the connection putting them in wrong and with too much force.
Mebbe I'll post a picture if anyone's interested.

Eww, you don't notice the dust until you see a close-up. Don't yell at me.
Sorry about the size, that's the best I can do for now.

Yeah, a number of them do, but there should be a cheap, easy solution. I have mine for now.
