    Hi Everyone.

I have jailbroken my iPot (thanks dev team) and installed 3rd party applications, and recently I have installed 'Summerboard 2.1.1' - this is where the problems started.

Now, I have the dock at the top of the home screen.

I thought it would help to uninstall 'Summerboard', which I have done, but now there is no trace of 'Summerboard' but the dock is still at the top.

    Thanks for reading,

    George.

install summerboard from the installer, go download the zip file from the link above, open INSTALL with wordpad, then copy everything via ssh/ftp to your ipod according to the INSTALL, restart

    Right, will do now.

So, basically do the whole 2.1.1 process again, but install summerboard from installer.app beforehand?

Yes install Summerboard through the Installer.app first, reboot, then follow the install instructions for the new alpha.. it involves replacing/uploading some files through SCP/FTP and making sure some permissions are set. Pretty straightforward.

Just a quick question swedishviking, using cyberduck, the permissions are already set to '755', is that correct? And do I just need to 'apply changes recursely'?

You shouldn't have to apply any permissions recursively, no. Just make sure the com.apple.SpringBoard.plist permissions are correct and then reboot your iPod touch to try the Summerboard app.

Thanks, I've just finished applying the changes to install the Alpha 2.1.1 Summerboard app.

    So let's reboot the iPot...

Dock is still at the top
