I mean, Compare the differences of the 1st gen Nano to the 3rd gen Nano. The iPod touch really has not changed. Ever

Well, it changed from 1st gen to 2nd gen. But there is only so much they can change due to the screen size. If they changed that, then all apps have to be optimized/updated to work on the new screen size. Maybe they feel that it's too much trouble to do that.

    Perhaps.

But it may not. Look at the iPod Classic, for example.

What do you expect from an update? Keeping in mind that the screen resolution should be kept the same. What more can they possibly do.

He's right^. If the screen resolution was changed, you'd have scaling problems in apps, which wouldn't be good at all.

So, I'd say that the only screen update currently available is an OLED screen...

I don't see the the iPod Touch getting a huge "makeover". There's not much you can do to it, because you can't change the screen size because of apps, and I'm not sure they could make it any thinner.

One thing they could do is put a back like the iPhone, but after 2 generations of iPod Touches staying the same, I don't think they will. It's the major diffrence in LOOKS of the iPod and iPhone.

I don't think they would change the back of the iPod to match the back of the iPhone because they probably want something to be different between them (other than the actual phone part

) Kind of like the iPod Nano and iPod Classic, where the Classic still has the silver back.

Well, also you have to take into account the public eye.

When someone sees the iPhone, they know what it is; when someone sees an iPod, they know what it is.

Same with Macbooks (thanks to the Apple logo). And iMacs. And just about every other Apple product.

I don't either see what they could change
I wouldn't like a thinner one, you'd always be afraid to break it.
The only thing could be to add space... but now with the 64go I don't see much need
Perhaps a battery that would last longer could be one of the only things
