For those that have used the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G, can you tell a difference? do they both look the same and have the same quality? (I DON'T CARE ABOUT IPS)

Just basically when you're using it I'm guessing that the retina display is the retina display so it is the same quality of iPhone 4 screen.

Please don't give a technical answer, just tell me if the display is pretty much the same/Is the same, basically.

Its basically the same, its just that if you look at the ipod touch 4G side ways, it will have a blueish effect...

I only saw a difference at looking very closely at the screen its not very noticiable if you ~.5meter from the screen. Also when you put your ipod under sun's ray the screen goes wierdly colored like a rainbow its wierd.

(im not really a pixel fan im mpre a gyro fan lol)

Sharpness is the same, but due to the IPS the iphone has better viewing angles (not a concern to me). The iphone screen also has a bit better contrast and black levels because of the higher quality screen.

This may sound bad but really the screen is still gorgeous and a big improvement over previous touch's.

My brother has the iPhone 4 and I've got the iPod touch 4G.

There is absolutely no observable difference in the retina display's.

They are both amazingly crisp and beautiful to look at.

That being said, there are differences in brightness/viewing angles between the 2 screens... but that's obviously because of the whole IPS/TN screen difference.

Personally, its no biggie, I prefer better battery life at the expense of not being able to use my iPod on its side..

What about 1/2/3G vs 4G? I take it all the previous touches have the same (mild) flaw as the 4G does?

Well you may not care for the IPS, but the IPS does make the huge difference. (according to that engadget video a few weeks back)
