Do I need to play left for dead 1 to play left for dead 2?
Not really. I actually played Left 4 Dead 2 before I even played Left 4 Dead 1.
Is it a story continued in L4D2
Tbh, I can't remember. I haven't played it in so long (since I only rented them).
The Story is kinda continued with the outbreak and all but none of the survivors are from LFD1. and i dont think their is any tie from LFD2 to LFD1.
So no it doesn't continue
I only played 2 and it barely has any story at all. It starts out on a roof top, they babel meaningless bullsh*t for 2 seconds and off you go shooting zombies. Not really a story, just a group of people killing zombies to get from point A to point B. At first I thought I missed something by not playing the 1st one, but I heard it was pretty much the same thing with different people.
You do run into the people from the 1st LFD in "The Passing" DLC, but again no real story so it's just like you ran into a random group of people shoot some zombies and go you separate ways.
The games fun, but don't expect a story. Just have fun killing hoards of the undead, that's all the games about.
i would play the first one....its fun to know the whole story. but if you dont want to, dont sweat it cuz the intro in the 2nd one gives you the whole story pretty much
IDK what you guys are talking about... There is no storyline in either.
Any "storyline" has only to do with that specific "movie" of the game or whatever its called (Each game has 5 "movies" you are supposed to be playing in, kind of)
They are in NO WAY linked to one another nor to the each other game, the only storyline is like jimbeam said "THE LAST CHOPPER JUST LEFT!" "OH, HELL NO NOT AFTER WE JUST RAN UP 20 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS!" "WELL LETS FOLLOW THEM" ...
Still a good game though
