I just recently updated to 1.1.4, but since then I've added some of my music and movies and set up my email client. Now I want to jailbreak it - will I have to restore it fresh again? Or can I keep my music and movies and have it jailbreak successfully?

    Thanks for any help.

I have done it twice with Ziphone 2.6b without a fresh restore. Just make sure you install the proper things line Community SOurces and BSD Subsystem after the jailbreak so you dont have any issues.

What about iLiberty? Can we just upgrade instead of restoring for that?

I so don't want to resync everything ...

I have had no reason to use iLiberty yet but I would imagine you could do the same with it.

Sorry for double posting... just wanted an opinion, BSD or Cydia?

I prefer BSD but you need to make sure you use the proper steps after the jailbreak and then add it before you do a bunch of other stuff. Lots of people love Cydia but I have not used it as of yet.

Well, I used the update method, and lo and behold after SUCCESSFULLY jailbreaking, I had 10GB of 'other' on my iPod. 10GB was the amount of space I used before I updated to 1.1.4. I guess you really need a restore for iLiberty+

    Restoring and rejailbreaking now.

It is most likely just in the wrong directory but i can't be sure. I did two of my iods and my iphone with Ziphone 2.6b without a restore at all.
