I just purchased a 2g 16gb ipod touch. Do I need to buy both an invisible shield and a case? I'm thinking about either the neotouch or rebeltouch if it matters.

My name is Chris and I represent ZAGG. The great thing about the invisibleSHIELD is that you don't need a case in addition to the shield. We at ZAGG love "going naked" with our gadgets because the invisibleSHIELD allows you to show off your gadget without adding bulk. I put my iPhone in my pocket with pens and change every day and I don't have any scratches on either the screen or the body of the phone. If you have any questions about the invisibleSHIELD or other ZAGG products, feel free to email me at evangelist@zagg.com.

    Thanks!

I myself have both. An IS to protect scratches. But also an Incase cover protector to protect from drops. I have the case mostly when I'm out. Where it can be dropped on pavements & such. But at home, I just have the IS on.

If you're going to use both, get a silicon or leather case. Only those can fit. Hard plastic cases are too tight to be put on.

i think only the case is needed, as the screen should be scratch proof.....

There's no such thing as a scratch proof screen. I had originally applied a BSE to my 2G on the back, not bothering with the front. A few weeks later, I had a nice little scratch on the side of the screen. You might think it's scratch proof, but it will get scratched eventually.
