I'm not sure if anyone has thought of this. Buy iphone in UK from o2 on PAYG. Work out how to unlock. Unlock. Send it to the USA. The only thing is that the price is like soooo much more. If it was like £199 on PAYG then that is $400. What i am suggesting is that if it were possible to unlock it you could just get your british friend (what? You don't have any?! :O) to buy one and send it over then you unlock it or something.

    Just a thought...

I don't believe that this will work because I'm positive that Apple has already thought about this; and done something that protects it from still being activated outside United Kingdom. I'm only guessing, though.

How the heck are they going to region lock a phone? If it is quad-band and I believe it is, it can be used anywhere in the world (within range of a tower). Plus you can take the iPhone abroad with you.

dw, we must think of the people who are less fortunate than ourselves, such as people who live 8hrs away from a UK o2 store
