I would like to know how many i-touch owners are happy with their touch's out of the box and how many have the 3 or 4 hundred dollars to risk on modifications that may or may not make it into a brick, now or later.

I for one fall into the former category. I love my ipod touch and have no intention of modifying it, against Apple's recommendation.

Well seeing as I, and thousands others, are yet to find ONE person who has bricked their iPod to the point of no fix including restore, I think that the "risk" is well worth it, as you have your basic iPod plus, all these cool little apps you get to show off constantly to your freinds

    Good for you.

I have hacked my Ipod touch and lovin' <3 it.

For me, it gives more options and a lot more functionality.

I'm tempted to jailbreak, i'm bored with my touch after only 1 week...but with my luck I doubt it would go smoothly.

I bought mine TO mod. I modded it within 24 hours and will never go back.
Its easy and fun... As others pointed out the risk factor is non exsistant.

Nothing a factory restore hasnt fixed.

I thought so too. But just go through it slowly and all will be well. And if you mess up its very easy to do a restore and its good as new like it was out of the box.

Also, if you get stuck just ask for help. Everyone her is fantastic about helping.
