If I had one, I'd slap an Otterbox and Zagg InvisibleShield Extreme right on it. Keeps it in mint condition and ready to be sold on eBay for the next one to release :D

YUP!!!!!! This happened to me both for the iPhone 4s and now the iphone 5. I called verizon support and they told me they would send me out a new iphone and i can send back this one.

Its the little white spec by my fingers. Yes its small, but when I pay $800 bucks, i expect there to be NO SCRATCHES!

It's aluminium that has been coated (anodised?) so it's going to scratch if you don't treat it correctly. Treat your hardware better and what do you know!? It might not be so easily scratched!

I had my iPhone 4 for 2 years, with no scratches, no dents, no drops. Still in perfect working order. Ugh. People will do anything (and I repeat ANYTHING) to find another "Apple-gate" with the new device.

I should also mention that MINE came out of the box like this. I did not scratch it or even do anything to it. I always inspect my products i buy to make sure theres nothing wrong with it, and i do so RIGHT when i take it out of the box. That is when i spotted that bad boy on my picture above there ^^

I just put it into a holster (which is made to hold phones, been using for 4 years) and it made that blemish on day 1. Apple really failed on this one.

Hope the iPod touch doesn't suffer from this.

I got the white model, so nope! What a beautiful phone, by the way.
