Yes, it clears the ram so I can run memory intensive apps. It's also good practice to give the hardware a rest. Sometimes I turn it off at night instead of charging it. Helps to have less radio waves going around but at this point, I'm not sure of its effectiveness.

I turn it off every now and then and ten I turn it back on immediately (it's called a reboot).

Not at all.
I sometimes Respring it when i need to install a tweak from Cydia.
Restart the device only when i get certain errors.
But never turn it off for any reason. Why would i?
