Considering that there is very little chance of actually "bricking" the Touch, I think it's a great idea to try the jailbreak. The term "bricking" started with phones that, due to carrier specific issues, could be "bricked" rendering them useless as cell phones. With the Touch, you are able to restore it back to factory settings through iTunes. Thousands of freaked out people have posted "I bricked my iPod!!" only to find out they didn't and could fix the problem with a quick restore.

I suppose that if you didn't bother to do a little research and just jumped right in, it's possible to ruin it, but doubtful. If someone says they bricked their iPod, I would wager a guess that they just didn't restor it.

I say go for it. I had to choose the second option because I had some issues.....that were resolved after reading why they happened.

I was a little nervous too but its pretty easy to do, probably even easier since I did it. There is no reason not to do it if something screws up you can just restore it and start over again.

I get the odd crash here and there...(Browsing Albums and songs) maybe its from too many songs and etc, even though I only used up 3/4 of the HD. I still love my iTouch!

what if u update to a new system version?

Lets hope apple doesn't act as the usual @$$ and brick the touch with a new system version...

But in any case, i have had experience with the psp too, and what i've realized is that with all this hacking, even if your thing bricks, after some time other hackers will be able to un-brick it anyways.....

or at least that's what happend with the psps in the first place.

so chill and don't worry too much!
