Just a reminder. Every iPhone owner should know that already, but still...

So be patient until the devteam releases a tool for updating to 3.1.

have no internet at my house, was gonna download the iphone 3.1 software onto a flash drive and put it on my computer at home since theirs does not have itunes... but i click the link on apple.com it tells me to connect to itunes and download it through there... anyway to just download it onto the flashdrive without itunes being installed on the computer first?

and im pissed off right now so idc what firmware it goes on. So now im downloading 3.1 ill tell yall how the jailbreak search for it goes...

Do not tell me you updated your 3GS to 3.1. That is really careless! Lucky for you, it seems chronicdev will be releasing a jb for 3.1. Let this be a lesson for you to be more patient next update or you might lose your 3GS jb forever.

There's never been an update that kills jailbreaking forever. Stop spreading fear and doubt.

Ok... but only if saurik and the devteam stop first. Go ahead and tell them. And please also post the reply in case you get any - I am always in for a good laugh.

Meh, the only thing I really miss when I'm not jailbroken is SBSsettings. Other than that, I can live without it.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The dev team has already stated that a firmware update on the current hardware WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BREAK JAILBREAKING FOR GOOD. The exploit they're using is so low-level that Apple would have to release NEW HARDWARE to stop them from jailbreaking any future OS on the current generation iPhones and iPod Touches.

As to the dev team stopping developing of jailbreak apps, they'll always be someone new who would take up the reigns and jailbreak for the community so there's no worry there. I've been jailbreaking iPod touches and iPhones since back in 2007 so spare me the "know it all" posts mmk?
