Please do not discuss methods for circumventing UDID checks for the OS4 beta firmwares on forum.

If you are a developer or are legally attached to a developer account then you should have no need to circumvent the UDID check. The only use we see for someone trying to get around these checks is if they have illegally downloaded a beta and want to install it on an unregistered device.

Apart from being piracy, discussion of which is against the forum rules, there is another reason for keeping this discussion off the iPtF forums. These firmwares are betas and so are buggy and incomplete. Banning discussion of circumventing the UDID check will help prevent unnecessary forum noise from inexperienced members getting into issues after installing the buggy betas.

    Thanks.

Fair enough, your reasoning justifies your actions.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking this was legal in the first place.

And it was being a distraction from what actually pertains to 4.0; the features. A newer user would come in here, and only see things about circumventing the UDID check on the beta versions.

Like Stu said, unnecessary forum noise.

Yeah, this bug will be out of the firmware soon anyway. It's like just pay a developer like $5 to register it for you

Totally agree with this, now I just want your opinions on people discussing frameworks of the 4.0 firmware.

    1. If they have legally obtained the firmware they are bound by an NDA (a legally binding contract) and so should not be talking about it, forums have been asked to take down material that breaks NDA before.

    2. If they did not obtain it legally and are therefore not bound by an NDA, they downloaded it illegally.

Should this also be ruled out of discussion?

This rule is meaningless since you can't circumvent the UUID checks at the moment.

Good question, because there is a lot of talk about those 93 other features. Personally, I've declined to comment on the subject, though others have been more forward.

But what if it was seen on another site or on the web somewhere ? Surely if there was a new feature discovered then a thread can be allowed ? IMO don't think theres no point in asking 'where did you get the firmware from' I mean if they found it, then they should be allowed to post their findings .. IMO anyway
