I havent even got an iPod Touch yet but will be getitng mine tomorrow and have a question, I searched but couldnt find the complete answer here.

I have read about screen protection and I'm a bit unsure if I need it or not. I thought the screen was made of some sort of glass, therefore virtually scratch proof, if so then why the need for protection?
Also, again I have seen load sof things about cases, do I need one?

Do I need a screen protector and case mates!?

    Thanks

You don't need one at all. It's just person preference. But the back does scratch VERY easily. Whether a film or an actual case, it'll help your iPod.

Next time please post in the right section.

Ok understood, but just seems to be so much interest in protection.
Sorry I posted in Gen Chat, didn't know where to post since it's my first post....

My iPod has over 6 scratches on the glass, with one deep one =(

I got a flip case to stop screen exposure...it works (got it after all the scratches). A Plastic screen protector works too, I just don't like the plastic cover. ;D

it just depends how careful you are with your ipod and where you use it. i am pretty careful with my ipod and my ipod is safe without a screen protector.
    just depends on you

I use the anti glare screen, and stragnely it actually somewhat works. It stop fudges and stop the sun slightly, at least now I am able to actually see some of my screen in the sun.

The screen, like you said, is virtually scratch-proof. When I was at the Apple Store, I asked the same question and one of the clerks took one and carved on it with his car key and there wasn't a scratch on the screen.
However, the back does scratch easily. If it gets scratched, it won't effect the performance, but it looks nicer with a clean back and a case on it in my opinion.
In short: I'd suggest a case with back protection only.

If you don't use screen protection, you run the risk ofcatching screen aids or screen the clap. Also, screen pregnancy is not typically wanted, for obvious reasons.
