im not entirely sure, but i think they dont need a receipt, they can just look your ipod up via the serial number on the pack - if its within one year of you buying it you should still have the apple care plan and they should be able to fix or replace your ipod

They will run the SN. If it is within the warranty period, they will replace it.

nope. just take it to the store, theyll search the serial no. and see that you bought it, possibly check credit info if you used credit, and there you go.

Not necessary also... I helped my brother get his faulty iPod touch replaced and I just had to drop by the Service Provider near my office without any appointment...

The ppl in the SP checked the warranty record via the Serial Number... Once this was verified, they gave me a form for me to fill up with personal details... Three days later, the SP called me and informed that the replacement unit was ready for collection... Very prompt and efficient!

You don't need a receipt. I did need to make an appointment, though.

I have had to have two different iPod Touches replaced at the Apple store. The fisrt I bought off eBay and the second from Amazon. I didn't supply a reciept for either and was not asked. They just checked the warranty status using the serial number and that was that.
