Do I have to worry about anything after jailbreaking?

I have a just-recently jailbroken ipod touch 2.2. I'm quite sure I successfully jailbroke it because there's Cydia. However, my itouch went into (I think) the DFI screen where it says to connect the itouch via usb to itunes. Then, I had to manually turn it off and turn it back on..... So I have no wifi so I can't tell if I successfully did jailbreak it. Is there a way to verify it?

Back to the actual question: do I have to worry about anything? What about updating my ipod touch: if I update it, will everything be deleted? Or can I just update every single time with no worries? Do I need to jailbreak more than once or is this my last (hopefully) time?

    Thanks in advance!

If you update through iTunes, you will lose your jailbreak and will have to re-jailbreak.

    Update to 2.2.1 and re-jailbreak.

Always best to be on the newest firmware

Most of us do update, we just update to a custom firmware or rejailbreak.
