do i have to reboot always after i install something from cydia?

    No 50% of the time it loads automatically into springboard sometimes you have to restart the springboard (not reboot)

    Nope. Your springboard will refresh (you don't have to apply the patch again, don't worry), but only a few applications require a complete reboot.

    The only one that I know about offhand, is Winterboard, it requires a full system reboot to take affect.

    If Cydia crashes before the springboard is restarted (but the application is installed) simply download the application on Cydia called "Respring", simple to use utility.
