    OK guys.
To the meat of the problem. Does installing more applications generally decrease the performance of your iPod? Say, does it make a slight lag while using other apps etc? Please help >.<

the jailbreak apps cause your ipod to become more unstable. But apps from the appstore do not.

    at least they used to..
    i think...

As long the app isn't working in the background, then it's ok. Apps like Music, Safari work in the background.

I really don't think so. As long as it is not using data. I have around 100 apps (;D) and it runs just fine as when I opened it out of the box.

As 鐘 mentioned above, apps running on background could have a huge effect on the performance, also its an energy killer, so remember to shut the apps competely by holding home button for 5 secs

As said, I highly doubt it.

Although, I have another question - can how much music stored slow the player down?

I noticed when I added another 100 songs the other day - when browsing my Music, it would freeze every few presses.

Yeah, i noticed that when i scroll through my music, there is a very slight lag when it scrolls from the English section of my library to the asian songs xD

But no, there shouldn't be a problem if you put more music onto the player...

It depends if you are running background application (only in the 1G)
other than that, I hardly doubt it.
