Hi! i am wondering if there is a way to store data files on my new ipod like using it as a hard drive. is it true there is no disk mode on the touch? does this mean that would be impossible?

If you know anything about jailbreaking, say what you know, and I'll tell you how to get DiskMode, but I need to know your level of Expertise.

You can download Discover and use the app as a Wi-Fi drive.

You guys dont need to be jailbroken as long as itunes is installed on the computer thats the only bad part. as long as the drivers are in place, you can drop files into the photo folder, like when you plug it it and go to explorer to take the screenshots and cam pics off of your ipod, jsut put files there.

I'm actually not able to put files onto the iPod from there, only copy and delete files from it.

There are a few apps on the app store which allow you to store files on your device, some are wifi and some use the iTunes file sync thing.

you cannot use the touch as a hard drive out of the box like you can with previous generations, namely those that actually use hard drives to store music/video etc. instead of flash memory which the touch uses. you can use the iPod classic as a hard drive or you can use data transfer apps to store files by transferring over wifi. other than that ask people who know about ways via jailbreak.

The Airsharing app works great. It was free too! Not sure if it still is. Only 'caveat'? Is that it requires wifi to work
