I am looking for a way to disable the home and sleep buttons temporarily, maybe ten seconds. I can create a NSTimer and what not, i just need to know how to disable the two buttons, if i can. I am using the 2.2 iPhone SDK, and this is for a jailbroken iPod or iPhone. I could bring them back after a period of time, or when a button on the screen is pressed, either will work.

    Thanks, Stephen.4.

I don't think you would be able to disable them through an application. How about looking through Mobile Substrate? If Backgrounder is open source, then you can take a look at the source and find out how it uses the home button.

oh it is definitely possible seeing as the previous versions were able to disable both once the app was loaded and all you could do was hold both of the like for 20 seconds to shut down your ipod
