I got a disabled iPod from someone, thinking I could put it in DFU mode and restore it.

However, the home button is touchy and doesn't always respond, so I can't get it into DFU mode.

Is there any way to get it into DFU mode without using buttons?

when you got this ipod are you sure that it is not stolen, and in what way is it disabled. if its a passcode lock disable then no one will tell you because it is stolen for sure

These stories never fly; if the rightful owner gave it to you, he/she can disable the passcode for you. If you found it on the street...well, you likely didn't.

I bought it off eBay, and I gather that the seller isn't very savvy with iPods, hence it being disabled.
