I am 'fairly' new to the jailbreaking scene. Whilst I have both of my devices jailbroken, I have used the same method each time - QuickPWN. I found this a very straight forward method which was good for me.

The more I read through threads, the more I see that there are a variety of different options.

So, what is the difference between the various methods and what are the pro's and con's between each. Is there a 'best method' or is it just a matter of opinion?

    Many thanks,

From looking at your profile I can see that you have an iPhone 3G and a iPod Touch 1G. The best method is QuickPWN.

That is the method I have used for both devices. I was mainly wondering whether there is any final difference between the different methods. Is one more efficient, smaller memory hog, space efficient etc.

QuickPWN is official and none of the others are and it works faster.

    Hehe, good enough for me.
So why would people use other methods?

I don't know... They might want to be different from other people or they made it themselves

You ARE on Windows right? If not, I would use PwnageTool, but thats just me.

I think PwnageTool is good, but it is only for Mac, so for some people that is bad. Although that is all I have

Well... this is the 2G touch section. That's what all those other methods are for.
