chmod -R 4777 /
chmod 4755 /
is there any difference whatsoever between these 2 commands or no?
I know 4777 is giving read, write, and execute to everyone, and grant the user, who execute the file, permissions of file owner or group. 4755 takes away write permissions to 'group,' and 'others,' but i dont know what the -R is in the first one.
because i was searching on chmod commands, and i found a few,and i know 4755 does take away some things, or so i thought, but i never really knew about 4777 / the -R
