DFU won't work

    I have a tethered Ipod touch and got the decovery program but when I try to put my ipod in DFU I get a message that says "USB device not recognized" what am I doing wrong?

    you might not be propperly putting the device into DFU mode. Are you trying to jailbreak, or are you trying to restore back to the default firmware?

    If you are trying to restore, plug in the device, and follow the steps to get into dfu mode and you should be able to restore.

    If you are trying to jailbreak to the untethered, you should probably restore back to default firmware and then re-jailbreak

    You're doing EVERYTHING wrong. Hold Home + Power for 10 seconds exactly, then let go of Power, but keep holding Home. Windows should beep.

    BTW, you really should search before you post. Not everyone is going to help, since there are already over 100 topics on this so called "USB Device Not Recognized" "Problem."
