Okay, so my power-button isn't working because i dropped my iPod Touch 2G into some water (by accident of course), and now it only turns up the sound when i press it. This happened while i was still on OS 2.24 or whatever the newest 2.X was. So i updated it to 3.0 and i lost my jailbreak, and now i can't jailbreak it again because you'll have to use the power-button to go into DFU mode.

Is there a way to make my iPod Touch 2G, OS 3.0 go into DFU mode without using the powerbutton.

I think ZiPhone cound do that. Put it into DFU mode.

But can it do that on 3.0 ? Doubt it.

No, entering DFU purely by software means was broken with the release of 2.0, meaning ZiPhone is defunct and the only way is with hardware :S

But i couldn't jailbreak it with firmware 3.0,, so i was able to downgrade it to 2.X.something (the newest one) and then jailbreak it with an old version of Quickfreedom.. :s

I opened the firmware in winrar and went into: firmware/all flash/all_flash.n72ap.production....

i copied the applelogo file and renamed it to the name of the LLB file, then i replaced the LLB file with the copy of the applelogo file...

i restored it in itunes with the firmware where i did this... and BAM itunes said Error 6 or something like that and my ipod was in dfu....

I have absolutely no idea why this works

So what you basically did was restore your iPod to a rearranged firmware.

OK, why has nobody told me this!

I'm going to take a deeper look into this, if it really works, someone should make a program for it.

EDIT: Is this what you did?
