DFU restore???

    How do you DFU restore your ipod?I don't need to do it but i want to know cause i'm probably gonna do it in the near future. So can someone please give me the steps or a link with a guide on how to DFU restore? Thanks

    You put your iPod into DFU mode and Restore it. You can find out how to get into DFU mode by doing a simple Search with Google.

    So itunes recognizes your ipod in DFU mode? thats good to know...

    Use the instructions in my signature to get in DFU (follow the link), then restore with iTunes by holding shift and click restore, then select the firmware (you can either download one or find the one that is already in the iPod Software Updates folder, I don't know where it is off hand).

    so is there like a link somewhere that will let me download a custom firmware? i had a custom firmware on my computer but i got a new computer so can some1 please give me a link to a good firmware with cydia on it?

    It is illegal to give you a link to custom firmware or original firmware. You can find it in this directory: C:\Documents and Settings\{USER NAME}\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

    Since i have itunes 8.2 will i even be able to DFU restore?...And is there anyway to downgrade my itunes? i have Windows

    Yes, you can DFU restore with 8.2. As for downgrading you can try to google it, but I think it is only for mac.
