Well on my ipod 1st generation, i had 3% battery left, but i tried to jailbreak it. The battery died mid jail break, and now whenever i try to charge it, or plug it into my computer, it stays black and itunes will not recognize it. I have browsed the website for a solution, but no solution works. I think what makes my scenario different is that mine is unrecognizable while in DFU mode, therefore it cannot be charged so i have no way to exist DFu mode. Anyone know what i can do? I have tried all the methods such as simultaneously holding down home and power, and all the variations of that. Restoring does not work either because my ipod just won't turn on no matter what i do.

Try and enter DFU mode then connect to your PC, you should be able to restore within iTunes.

Did you try restarting your computer with the ipod plugged in? Maybe it would recognize it during start up. Or you could try charging it from an outlet for a while then retry all the different ways again.

old the home (bottom) button for a few seconds, then plug it in...keep holding it. if nothing happens, you may want to take it to apple.

It might be wise to charge it via an external ac adapter (not through the computer), and then try to dfu or re-jb

if you don't have an AC charger, try changing your usb power settings to don't ever turn off or don't save power to see if that happens. If that doesn't work, you could try opening it up and if there's an equivalent to removing the watch battery from the MoBo to reset CMOS, do that.
