What is the difference between Restore Mode and DFU Mode?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    For example:

Restore Mode - Turn iPod off, hold home button, insert cable

DFU Mode - Connect iPod to computer, open ZiPhone, Restart in DFU Mode
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

My understanding of the difference is:

Restore Mode - Kinda sorta restores it, but leaves some stuff on

DFU Mode - Erases everything and makes it squeaky clean

Also, DFU exists in the bootrom, which can't be modified or anything. So DFU mode is a much deeper form of restoring, and it's theoretically always possible to restore using DFU mode.

DFU mode is like the deep deep restore mode, which restores in iTunes without any errors, and also cannot be exited from. Restore mode is simply a mode where iTunes and programs like ZiPhone can work on the ipod, and CAN be exited, very easily i may add.
