When in DFU, hold down the home button and the power button for about 10 seconds. If your phone is connected to your computer you'll hear a beep as when a USB device is disconnected.
Next just press the power button and your phone will startup at usual.

You can easily get out of DFU, I have a hard time with the whole button pressing though, so I never do that.

You don't have to restore/recover anything to get out of DFU.

Easy way is to use iRecovery.

Look in your firmware IPSW (extract it) and find something that looks like: iBSS.n72ap.RELEASE.dfu

Copy that into the folder with iRecovery, and rename it to ibss.dfu.

    Now do these simple steps:

    1. Send ibss.dfu (iRecovery -f ibss.dfu)
    2. Unplug the USB cable, plug it back in.. you should now have a white screen.
    3. Spawn an shell (iRecovery -s) then type "reboot", then type "/exit"
    4. Spawn another shell (iRecovery -s) then type "fsboot"

The button-pushing method is probably better for those who aren't tech-savvy...
