Is there any video anywhere or step by step process or software or something to develop ipod touch apps. I'm talking about apps like you find on installer I want to write and make one, and yes I know about the Apple SDK but I dont want to pay for that because I dont plan on putting my app on the AppStore. So simply put does anyone know where I can find a tutorial if you will, on how to write apps?

If you want to make Applications for the iPod Touch / iPhone firmware, you will need to learn Objective-C and use the iPhone SDK.

Other than that, you'll only be making Jiggy Widgets (Not apps) for 1.1.x.

And maybe some Objective C Apps with Tool Chain.

Then you are stuck with making 1.1.x Apps with Tool Chain and Jiggy Widgets.

Lots of people are going to be moving to 2.0 so... Good Luck I guess.

Blech developing with the toolchain is very... unnatural. I have tried, and did not like it. I'm definitely moving to the SDK. I just need an intel mac to build with Xcode.

Anyways, here are the books I read. They are very good

    Programming in Objective-C

    iPhone Open Application Development

And I just got a new cocoa book which I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
