Hey everyone just wondering. Yesterday ive was still running iPhone SDK 3.0 and when i popped in my iPod Touch 2nd gen with 3.1.1 on it and used the "use this iPod as developer device" it showed me a list of all the firmwares and a restore button!

Im thinking.. could this mean that licensed iPhone dev's acturally can downgrade on any device even the never ones?

I mean.. if im able to freely select any firmware for my iPod Touch 2nd gen... then why shouldn't we not be able to do that for the 3G and iPod Touch 3G?

And yes ive paid for the developer program. If noone here are able to try it then ill just try it when i get my 3G in a few days.

Well, for the iPod Touch 3G you can't downgrade lol. There's only one firmware to go to and that is 3.1.1. Unless you want to make a 3.0 firmware for it haha.

Not exactly what i meant with this. I meant if you got a 3G with 3.2 for example then you could downgrade?

There is no 3.2... And if there was, yeah you probably could, try it.

In Organizer, as long as you have the firmware file I'm pretty sure you can downgrade. Maybe even iPod Touch 3G, considering it would be used for compatibility testing..

    Anyone here with a 3G and a developer? I'm a registered dev and all but, don't have a 3G..

    Exactly what i meant.

I meant that maybe developers will be able to downgrade their 3G = allways jailbreak able regardless of the purchase date.
