I might register to be a developer today. I have a few questions. If I become a developer will I be able to downgrade to previous firmwares? I got my iPhone replaced and they gave me one with 3.1.3 and an old bootrom. I haven't been able to jailbreak and will being a developer allow me to downgrade to 3.1.2?

    Thank you

Depends. What kind of developer? Did you subscribed to 99 bucks Dev-Program?

How many devices can you add to a dev account?

And how do you alter what OS version a given device is running? ie do you need to know how to programme in for the iphone to upgrade to a 4.0 beta or is it a point and click operation?

you can add 100 devices and you can just restore to 4.0 easily

Can i reassign OS versions with windows based hardware, or have I got to waste money on a mac based system?

I read somewhere you need a mac to develop apps for the iphone.

I'll wait till summer then, I'm not about to blow an extortionate sum on some apple hardware that I'll never use again, just to get a beta version of the OS
