So lately I have been kinda bored, I was thinking wouldn't it be fun if there were some challenges around here.

All the developers who visit the site regularly could compete. Pretty straight forward, the community votes on the winners.

I don't know. Just an idea. I would be willing to compete.

Nothing huge cause most developers probably have a project that is consuming their time.

Someone should throw out some contest ideas.

and if your a dev who wants to compete just say so. Could be fun.

I hardly find time to work on my project never mind challenges, also I think we all know who would win. *Looks over to Skylar*

I think since he is like the godfather of time he should be the one that challenges.

To be a godfather of time you just have to know how to use NSTimer.

    I have one.

Recently, I decided to make my own "PocketTouch", very basic, so I just made a UIView subclass and implemented my own touch methods, and made a protocol (the view itself doesn't change the music, it just sends the tap, swipe left, etc. messages, I did it this way because I have no way to test on the device atm, so the delegate changed a label when it received the messages, for testing on simulator).

I made it in ~160 lines (interface + implementation), ~130 without comments (I plan to release the source code, so I added lots of comments), but you can do it in as many lines as you need.

That's my challenge, make your PocketTouch-like view (I named mine SwipeControls).

These are the specs of mine:

    • Tap message (music changes on double tap, but that's implemented on delegate)
    • Swipe left message
    • Swipe right message
    • If moving up or down, send a float with the offset, and don't send a swipe message
Anybody up for it? It's quite easy
